Your Job as an Artist (its very simple):

Have you been to Africa? You read the news and watch films by PARTICIPANT MEDIA (Jeff Skoll – co founder of Ebay).

You are informed!

There is no shortage of problems to address or movements to support.  There is also no shortage of solutions. What information creates the biggest reaction in your gut?  What news have you always been drawn to caring about?

Pick THAT – spend your life working to fix THAT.

"To convert source information into another form."
(anger into a film, ideas into art)

Consider culture.  Where are we?  How do people get their information?  What videos get the most youtube hits?  What sites become overnight successes?  What information gets the most talk in coffee shops and bars?  What made giving to Hurricane Katrina cool, buying (red) brands trendy…?

What information seems to get to people?
What are you good at?  What do you love to do?

Package the information

Paint a picture that will need interpretation – write a speech, start a social network, read a book… then continue taking note for the book that you are writing.  Sing about it. Scream about it.  Draw about it. Dance about it.

Anger is a gift.  What will you make with it?

Literally, this means to convert a message written/spoken/art into language that is easily understood

Who is likely to see the art, and interpret the message.  Who will care?

You will never please everyone – “have enough tolerance for two.”
Here is where the mass audience will receive the information, and make their own sense of things. Here are some questions they will ask:

-what is this?
-who did this?
-what are they trying to say?
-what can I do with this information?

SUCCESS! You got someone else thinking!

This is each persons interpretation of what you want to say.  This echo of the original idea. - A starting point for some, and encouragement for others.

“a mind opened to a new idea will never return to its original dimensions."

If masses of people pay attention, and piles of art is made, a major shift in thinking could occur.

What is the root to this change?
Purpose based art.  Art that matters.

“I don’t know what to do?”

“YOU ARE GOING TO FIGURE OUT WAYS!!!!! You're meeting other like-minded individuals. Build; and say ‘what are you doing?’ What’s going on? where are you connected?  Can we work together?

You just need to start making those end roads. The answers will come to you. A lot of people want to know how to inject themselves into this processs.  Its better to fight it then go ‘oh what can I do? I dunno? – Well more than nothing.. a lot more than nothing..”
